GameDay Trailer Fuels Charleston Southern’s Football Kickoff

We’re thrilled to announce the debut of the Charleston Southern University Campus Store Co. mobile gear trailer! This exciting new addition will be parked behind the main bleachers at every home game, offering fans a convenient way to gear up and show their Buccaneer pride.

The trailer will open one hour before kickoff and remain open through the end of the 4th quarter, ensuring you have plenty of time to stop by and grab some Bucs Gear. Each home game day, the GameDay Trailer will feature a limited GameDay special item! Whether you're looking for the latest apparel, accessories, or exclusive merchandise, the GameDay Trailer will have something for every fan.

Trailer Production Timeline Highlights 

The GameDay Trailer project kicked off in early January. Initial conversations with trailer manufacturers took place over a couple of months to align specifications with vendor capabilities. Pricing, timeline, and the ability to tailor the trailer to our specific needs were key factors in selecting a vendor. After careful vetting, we placed the order in mid-April.

Once the trailer was selected, Philip Goins (VP of Store Development) and our marketing team worked closely together to craft a truly unique and personalized design for the trailer wrap. The goal through each stage of the creative process was to ensure the final design would capture the spirit of Charleston Southern University and stand out as a one-of-a-kind addition to their Campus.

Simultaneously, we searched for companies to handle the full wrap printing and interior modifications, such as cabinets, countertops, and slat walls, working closely with local vendors. The trailer was delivered to our Slingshot headquarters, located in Marion, IN, on July 23, and the following weeks were spent finalizing the wrap and scheduling its installation. Interior installations were completed the week of August 12, and the trailer was wrapped on August 20th. By August 26th is had been delivered to CSU, just in time for the first home game on August 31!

But the excitement doesn’t end there. If CSU wins a home football game, in store customers enjoy a special victory discount on the following Monday. For each touchdown scored, we’re offering a 5% discount on regular-priced apparel and gift items, with a cap of 35% off. So, the more touchdowns the Bucs score, the more fans will save!
